As I’ve gotten older, I’m sort of realizing the clothing pieces to spend the money on and where to save. My closet is nearly barren compared to how it used to look and that’s because I get tired of the trends and just tired of the same old clothes, so I clear them out of my closet so quickly—which really stinks if it’s something I spent a bunch of money on. So I’m refocusing where I splurge and where I save. I’m willing to spend on nice denim, bags, neutral tops that can be mixed and matched with tons of outfits, skirts and dresses that I know I’ll have forever, etc. But, it’s nice to find things that are just as nice with a lower price tag. Because ya know, one year old babies are kind of messy and half of the stains end up on my clothes!
One place where I go to get the deals is Nordstrom. But here’s where I search on their website: I click on their “trend” tab near the top and I know that everything there is going to be very “now,” but won’t cost a ton. If you’re like me, then you may not have even known that section was there! I love it because it’s a mix of high and low pieces, but mostly super affordable things, like the Topshop range.
And it’s no secret that I have an obsession with Topshop. I wore some beach wear from the brand in Monday’s post and today I’m switching it up with an outfit that can take you from shopping, to dinner or drinks, or maybe even to work if you have a casual dress code.
ruffle jacket (comes in red, blue, and gingham too) | striped bell sleeve top (the softest top and just $30) | jeans | bag ($48!) | nude heels (these are definitely a splurge, but I’ve had mine for a couple years now and they still look brand new. there’s just no comparing to these and their gorgeous pearly patent leather, but these come close and are super affordable!)
Thanks to Nordstrom for partnering on this post.
