One of the top questions I get asked on the baby front is, “Where do you shop for Watson and Rosie’s clothes?” It’s no secret that I have a huge love for classic baby and children’s clothing. Smocked jon jons and bubbles, bishops, and hand embroidered layette pieces… it all makes my heart so happy. I realize it’s not for everyone, but for me, I want to dress my babies like babies for as long as they’ll let me! I know our days of neon colors, sparkles, and camouflage are probably coming soon, but until then I’ll just keep taking advantage of dressing these two like little dolls.

First I’m going to share my favorite baby and children’s brands—some have shoppable websites and some of these brands are only available in boutiques. (You can probably locate websites where these brands are sold with a quick google search.) Second, I’ll share a list of my favorite online boutiques. Finally, I’ll share my three favorite local boutiques here in Charleston that you can visit if you live here or if you’re in town visiting!

So here you have it… my ultimate guide to my favorite baby and toddler clothing!

Favorite baby and children’s clothing brands:

The Bella Bean: Adorable designs for each season and at great prices! Shown below.

Beaufort Bonnet Company:  Everything is adorable—the dresses, jon jons, bubbles, I could go on.

One of the consistent things I buy are the Shelton Shorts and Sheffield Shorts for Watson, along with these little polos. Baby Watson is in one of their jon jons and dress shirts below. (Photo by Julie Livingston.)

James & Lottie: Blown away by their adorable designs. Rosie has this bloomer set.

Petit Ami: Nice selection of special event pieces as well. Also available at Dillard’s and often on sale. This bloomer set below is by far one of my favorite outfits I have for Rosie. It’s simple, lightweight, softer than some jammies she has, and looks nice all at the same time! And since it is two pieces, it has grown with her. She has worn it from two months old to currently at six months!

Vive le Fete: Aside from a general assortment of smocked clothing, they have lots of sports teams collections. Go Tigers!

Dondolo Baby: What an amazing company. Beautiful clothing and a beautiful mission. When you purchase a Dondolo piece, you are providing jobs to single mothers in Colombia, who stitch the clothing by hand.  Dondolo also provides clothing to children in Colombia in need. Rosie is wearing this brand below.

Bella Bliss: In love with it all, but I especially love their sweet take on basics. Like this white blouse. I’m ordering one for Rosie to grow into!

Lullaby Set: A nice mix of classic pieces ranging from day to day wear to heirloom pieces that you’ll want to save for grandchildren!  Watson is wearing their bubbles in both of these photos below.

Anavini: A lot of their pieces are available on Amazon. I love their jon jons on Watson!

Little English: They create the CUTEST classic designs. Here’s one of their tea blouses on Rosie below.

Proper Peony: Heirloom quality pieces, but also sweet for play wear! Their embroidered designs are to die for.

Oaks Apparel Co.: I recently came across this brand and bought this set for Watson… not knowing that the name of the set is THE WATSON. Is that not crazy!? Shown below.

Florence Eiseman: A hefty price tag, but the pieces we’ve had by Florence Eiseman were worn more than any others because they are so darn cute and they held up way better than other brands. I will always hold onto Watson’s jon jons by this brand.

Harbour Clothing: This is a new one for me. A company with a greater purpose! Rosie is wearing Harbour below.

Feltman Brothers: Special occasion pieces you’ll want to hand down for generations.

Busy Bees Kids: Classic designs that aren’t overly “smocked,” so I feel like this brand would appeal to a really wide range. Below, Rosie is wearing this dress and Watson is in this jon jon.

Tot a Porter: Handcrafted baby clothing. Honestly, just so exquisite.

Lila & Hayes: Newly obsessed with everything this brand produces! Rosie has this bubble and this dress. Watson has this bubble, shown below!

Sleepwear and Layette (Baby’s First Wardrobe):

Kissy Kissy: A staple for soft gowns and footie pajamas. Find them on Amazon, small boutiques, and stores like Bloomingdale’s, Saks, and Nordstrom to name just a few. Runs small.

Petite Plume: I mean, have you ever seen anything cuter than their pajama sets for babies and children? But side note, I think I need this for myself.

Beaufort Bonnet Co.: I’m obsessed with their “night nights,” but note: they run very small! Five  month old Rosie shown below in this one… in the 6-12mo in size.

Magnolia Baby: Very similar to Kissy Kissy. Sweet and soft!! Runs super small, in my opinion.

Lila & Hayes: All of their jammies are soft pima cotton. I love them because they are sweet and simple.

Pixie Lilly: A favorite of hollywood babies as well as sweet southern belles and beaus. Their soft layette pieces are hand crocheted and are beyond precious. Rosie was eight days old in a Pixie Lilly day gown below. (Photo by Marni Rothschild.)

Favorite Online Boutiques and sites to shop:

Smocked Auctions: Great price points and selection. You’ll find a little of everything here… shoes, accessories, swim, clothing. Perfect all-in-one shopping spot!

Amazon: Great place to find footies and onesies, plus you can find a lot of the brands mentioned above. I love these jammies for babies and this set for toddlers/kids. It’s only around $15 and feels heavenly! And look how cute!

Etsy: Follow my favorites here for tons of baby clothes I love + a huge variety of other things that have caught my eye.

Smockingbird Kids: Rosie is wearing one of their bubbles below. Their short sets for boys are the best fitting/feeling I’ve found.

Smocked South: Local to Charleston, featuring unique designs and amazing prices!

h&m: I live for these t-shirts for toddler boys. They are so cheap and when they get stained (they will. quickly.), you don’t feel bad about tossing them because they didn’t break the bank. I love their polos for the same reason. Just around $6 each! I also use these onesies for Rosie to sleep in.

Maisonette: Such a sweet assortment of beautiful baby and children’s clothing.

Ellifox: A one-stop shop for everything you need for your child. Based out of Charleston, Ellifox has a curated selection of the best shoes, bows, bags, clothing, and more. They also do the most impressive custom embroidery I’ve seen!

Shrimp & Grits Kids: Rosie is wearing one of their bubbles below! Such sweet things on their site!

Footmates: The most comfortable saddle shoes I’ve found for Watson.

Native Shoes: Watson lives in their Jefferson shoes! Just look at the thousands of 5-star reviews on Amazon. They can get wet, so they are perfect for playing outside—you can rinse them off after! Wearing them below.

Elephantito: Adorable special occasion footwear. Watson is wearing their saddle shoes below with his Dondolo outfit.

Beaufort Bonnet Company: They always have a great selection of shoes from various brands.

Saltwater Sandals: I love the “Sea Wees” for baby’s first pair, “Surfers” for toddlers, and these with little heart cut outs are adorable for little girls! Watson is wearing these below with his Anavini jon jon.

Chus: Ellifox carries quite the assortment! These are adorable, btw.

Freshly Picked: Sweet little moccasins that stay on!

Anavini: Precious suits for boys and girls.

Bailey Boys: Some of the cutest swim trunks for little boys that I’ve ever seen!

Minnow: Ah! Obsessed. Watson has a couple pairs of boardies and a rashguard, which fits better than any other brand. And Rosie is loving her Minnow suit below.

Little English: For little girls… scalloped and striped swimwear, need I say more?

Beaufort Bonnet Company: They have precious swimwear, towels, and coverups that all coordinate!

Charleston Baby + Children’s Boutiques

Baby Bloomers: Not only do they have clothing, but also baby gear like strollers, high chairs, and baby rattles, but they also have tons of beautiful nursery furniture.

Ragamuffin Boutique: I feel like they have the best assortment of smocked clothing and seasonal items, like swimwear, jackets, etc. I can always count on them to have the cutest outfits and coordinating sets for brother/sister, plus a lot of special occasion pieces. The store is also connected to Stride Rite, so it’s a great place to get baby and children’s shoes!

Southern Belles Children’s Boutique: A beautiful store with a little bit of everything. To me, this is where I would go to get a nice gift, like a silver baby rattle or a layette piece, like a Kissy Kissy or Pixie Lily gown like I mentioned above. In addition to everyday wear like smocked dresses and jon jons, they also have a lot of special occasion wear.
