I realized one day recently that I have a lot of tools and beauty products that I’ve purchased on amazon. Diving into the beauty realm on that website feels like uncharted waters sometimes. The options are endless and you never know what to trust, but luckily, I’ve had my fair share of trial and error over the years and now have quite the group of product favorites. Today I’m sharing those 10 things I simply cannot go without! The best part is that they are all very inexpensive and ship quickly and easily through prime.
1. Body Exfoliating Gloves (Pack of 12 Pairs)
It’s important to exfoliate your skin at least once a week to slough off dead skin cells and allow your skin to regenerate in a healthy, glowy way. These exfoliating mitts are fantastic. I prefer this to an actual exfoliating wash because you can use this with your own body wash and really get a consistent exfoliation all over the body because they are so easy to use! For $12, you get 24 mitts, so they are very inexpensive and you don’t have to feel bad about tossing them after 1-2 uses.
This jewelry cleaner works wonders for me. I use it about once per week on all of my diamond jewelry because they get so dirty so quickly. I used to make my own jewelry cleaning solution, but this is just easier when I’m pinched on time—which is all the time. I soak my jewelry in the container for about 1-2 minutes, then pull it out and scrub each piece with the little brush that comes with the cleaner. Then I rinse everything with warm water and sometimes, if it has been longer than usual, I’ll even drop everything in the cleaner one more time after that! This cleaner solution is under $8 and will last you the longest time.
I take magnesium (just regular magnesium… not this product, until recently) every night because it has a multitude of benefits, including calming the body. Come to find out, when magnesium is combined with oxygen, it creates a product that will really help to detoxify the body. Basically—and yes, this is a little awkward—it helps to cleanse the digestive system and creates a healthy probiotic environment. I don’t take these every night, but I’ve been taking about 3 of them for a few nights at a time and then stop taking them until I feel like they are needed again. I’d suggest starting off taking 2-3 at night at first and see how it makes you feel in the morning before increasing the dosage! Of course, I am not a doctor, so please do your own research and speak with your medical professional before adding anything new into your supplement routine.
4. Travel Mirror with Rechargeable LED Lights
This is the best travel mirror I’ve seen. It charges with a USB drive, so you can either plug it into your computer or straight into the iPhone charger box. It doesn’t have any magnification to it (something I did not want). It lights up super bright and is super light and travel friendly!
I prefer these soft gauze squares to cotton rounds because they don’t absorb as much product. These have a multitude of uses. Sometimes I use them to sort of wipe off my face after using an oil cleanser to remove makeup. Sometimes I just use my hands and a washcloth for that, then I’ll use these gauze squares to apply toner. If that’s the case one of these squares will last about 4 uses! You can cut them into smaller pieces or just use one corner at a time. I end up using every inch of this thing so there isn’t unnecessary waste. Using a gauze square is something that Shani Darden recommends—she is a celebrity facial esthetician. The main reason I love them is because they do not absorb product the way a cotton round does, so I feel like the products I’ve invested money in just go so much further.
6. Bioderma
The best makeup remover. It’s micellar water, so it literally feels just like water but it removes even the most stubborn makeup like a champ. For the eyes, take a cotton round or one of the gauze squares I just linked and apply this Bioderma on it. Then just rest it on your eyes for about 30 seconds and wiggle it off, taking the makeup with you. You’ll be amazed at how well it works!
7. Facial Pore Suction Cleanser
This is basically an at-home hydrafacial. I like to use this right out of a hot shower or right after I’ve steamed my face. It’s a pore vacuum, so it literally sucks the gunk out of your pores. Be careful holding it in one spot for too long because it will in fact give you a hickey on your face. But if you keep it moving then you’ll be fine. Also, this is totally pain free. Honestly, it’s addicting. After I do this, I like to wash my face again and then use a face mask if I have the time. If I don’t, I just make sure to use a toner afterwards before applying my serum and moisturizer.
(also available here!) These are actually for chilling wine in a glass, but they are almost identical to tools that were used on me when I had the best facial I’ve ever had at Spa Azure, which was a cold facial that totally changed my skin. I was told that cold will tighten my pores and lift/tighten my skin. So what did I do? I bought these on Amazon and now use them every single morning. I keep them in the refrigerator so that they stay nice and cold. Then when I wake up, I take my favorite oil cleanser and massage it on my skin with my fingers. Then I take these cooling wands and use them to massage my skin in outward, circular motion. They make such a difference!! Honestly I look like a totally different person before and after using these. They just get so cold—much like an ice roller—but I like these because you can do circular motions with them and place them right on top of your eyes to depuff.
Spoiler alert—this stuff changed my skin. Ok, so this product goes against all of my clean beauty standards since it contains hydroquinone, however, I’ve always said that I will strive to be as clean as can be and that might not be 100%. With that said, I’ve had dark spots on my skin from melasma and nothing, I mean NOTHING, has gotten rid of them except for my clear & brilliant lasers I had done over the summer. However, the melasma just slowly started to come back. That’s the thing about melasma—you always have it and it doesn’t ever go away. You have to constantly chip away at it to keep it maintained.
But then I started hearing about this $23 amazon serum on The Today Show and all over social media. It has almost 8,000 reviews on amazon and most all of them are glowing. And if you see the before/after photos, you’ll be amazed!
All I can say is that no serum has ever worked at lightening my dark spots until this. It made such a difference in just a matter of a week or two.
I’ve used these for about 8 years now! They are the best at removing peach fuzz from your face. And when that happens? Makeup goes on more smoothly, dead skin cells are also removed, your skin looks more glowy, and skincare applies more efficiently. No your hair will not grow back dark and coarse. They are magic! Once you use them, you’ll always want to have them handy. (Which is why I buy them in bulk!)
