a new favorite sandal

It has officially been almost five months since I’ve worn a high heel. That is, until the other night when I got dressed up in a fun summer dress and threw on a heeled sandal.

It has officially been almost five months since I’ve worn a high heel. That is, until the other night when I got dressed up in a fun summer dress and threw on a heeled sandal. Got to say, from someone who much prefers flats to heels, it felt really great. Not that I went anywhere, of course, but walking along a quiet South of Broad street with Brandon was enough in my book.

This is The Uptown Sandal by Margaux NY. I love this shoe so much that I actually just ordered it in another color. Before fretting at the price, know the quality of these is just as incredible as designer shoes that cost double or triple the cost. These are meant to be a closet staple that will last season upon season. And when I tell you they are comfortable…. trust me, they are comfortable. In fact, that is the whole premise that started Margaux. Two NYC gals who were a little fed up with having to switch shoes constantly in order to stay comfortable in such a walkable city. They created a super luxe shoe brand that is not only beautiful, but also enjoyable enough on the feet to traipse around from place to place, day to night.

This dress is by CAARA. I actually just scooped it up in my latest RTR membership order. I’ve done this premium membership all year, with a slight pause in May, and have absolutely loved it. I know there are a lot of intimate weddings going on, with just the closest friends and family, and I think this would be a perfect dress for an occasion such as that. I know I’ll be wishing for this dress come next spring when I want to feel cheerful and bright, but it’s still a little chilly. With that said, the fabric is nice and cooling, so it’s still perfect for summertime despite the dramatic sleeve. So many ideas for this one.

ps. I’m serious about the heels. I’ve come across some extremely comfortable brands lately. Like these and these. Will never go back to my uncomfortable pairs. No reason to now!
