Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend doing whatever it is that fills your cup—relaxation, time with family and friends, or maybe even being outside soaking up the crisp air. We cannot get enough of the cooler temperatures we are experiencing in Charleston. It’s definitely lower than usual for early October… and I’m not complaining. Usually we are sweating while picking out pumpkins, but this weekend we did so in long pants and sleeves. That’s a big win for us here in the south!
Our weekend was just as busy as it was laid back. What made it so great was that we did everything on our own time and didn’t have any obligations. We picked out new skeletons for our Halloween decor, which we have basically crawling up the side of the house, let the kids pick all the pumpkins, went for a bike ride, got coffee outside, watched Hocus Pocus, had a couple friends over to watch the Clemson football game and ordered pizza, and then backtracking to Friday night… I had my first cookbook club with my girlfriends since the pandemic began. It was fun to get that going again!
I posted this photo below on instagram last night and got some questions on the outfit, so I wanted to share a bit about it here.
As for this top, it is by The Great, but it sadly sold out everywhere early spring 2020. I’ve rounded up some similar options for you.
The jeans are Levi’s. I love them because they have zero stretch whatsoever and are high waisted. This particular fit is relaxed without being baggy. They are just really good. But be warned, size up. I really suggest it. Since they have zero stretch, I had to go up one full size—a size I never ever order in any other brand. Maybe it’s just me? But that’s my opinion. I have the lighter wash out of the two below. Actually I own both, but I’m wearing the lighter one above!
My shoes are Birdies The Starling. They are my ride or die. I cannot get enough of them and wish I had them in every single color. As far as sizing, I did have to choose the larger out of the two sizes I often go between. More specifically (because I know sizing can be so tricky to choose online!) I’m usually an 8.5, but sometimes a 9 in shoes. In these, the 8.5 was too tight, so I exchanged for the 9. Also, I just saw that you can save 10% off your order with code TAKETEN.
My sunglasses are by Chimi—the ones I’m always wearing. They feel better than Celine glasses, I believe, yet they are a fraction of the price. They also have held up so much better than my Celine’s.
The sweater around my neck is from Amazon and I’ve worn it about 15x in the past two weeks. I went up to a medium. My necklaces are by Dana Seng and the diamond one is Roberto Coin from here. This is my watch… I’ve had some questions on it recently!
