how I make my daily green juice

It’s amazing how much better I feel when I take the time to make my green juice in the mornings. I think it’s also a mental thing—I start my day off on a really healthy note and have more of a desire to keep it going all day long. But also, as someone who otherwise doesn’t eat enough fruit & veggie servings daily, this is the absolute best way I can make sure I’m getting such a wide range of nutrients into my body first thing. I hear that after you’ve fasted all night during sleep, it’s really important to break that fast with something very nutrient dense… and this is just the thing!

Today I’m sharing my favorite green juice recipe, which makes 2-4 servings depending on how big your juice glass is. You might notice in the steps below that I’m using the new knives and cutting board by Our Place. I can’t tell you enough how much I love this brand. The Always Pan, which is also by Our Place, is a daily staple in our home and the very best nonstick, versatile pan I’ve ever used. So when the knives and cutting board were released, it’s safe to say I had super high expectations… and they were 100% met.

There are three styles of knives available: the everyday chef’s knife, the serrated slicing knife, and the precise paring knife.  You can actually buy all three of them in a set for a special price! (The three together have a value of $175, but right now you can get them in the bundle for $145.)  They come in four really chic colors: steam, spice, blue salt, and char. I have steam and char! I love that each knife can be a different color, even when you buy them in the set.

If you’d like to try them out, you can use code HOLYCITYCHIC10 to take 10% off your entire Our Place order, but it’s not valid on already discounted bundles, gift cards, or traditionware!

The Walnut Cutting Board is such a nice design. It has this genius no-spill edge to it—plus it’s pretty enough to use as a platter!

Here’s what you’ll need for the juice!

(Makes 2 very large glasses of juice or up to 4 small glasses)

One bunch celery

1/2 large english cucumber or 1 full regular cucumber

1/2 lemon (I don’t peel mine)

1/2 green apple (cork & seeds are fine!)

1 “thumbnail” of ginger

5 mint leaves

3 full size romaine leaves (not cut)

1 large handful kale (honestly this makes such little juice, so no biggie if you don’t have kale handy!)

ps. Any juicer will work. I use a very inexpensive one!

It tastes delicious and should leave you feeling so great and energized. Tag me in your IG stories if you make it at home!
