And yes, I add tequila! You could add vodka instead—or nothing at all, by the way. This is a drink Brandon and I enjoyed every single day at The Dunmore when we were on Harbour Island recently. I paid close attention to the bartender whipping this thing up and I think I’ve nailed the at-home version. It’s light and refreshing… and so simple to make that it almost makes you surprised it tastes so delicious. Sharing the recipe below!
(2 servings per recipe)
Juice of two limes
3 cups ice
1 cup lemonade (The Dunmore uses pink lemonade!)
4oz tequila of choice
Mix the ice + lemonade + tequila in a blender.
Meanwhile, juice one whole lime into each drinking glass!
Once blending is complete and the mixture is very fine, pour the mixture into the glass, so that it is enveloped by the lime juice.
Recipe makes two frozen lemonades.
Enjoy!
Make sure to not skimp on the lime juice! It’s important. I would add the lime juice even if you forego the alchohol.
I also suggest a straw! This is a hard one to sip without one.
