I’ve been dreaming of this space in our yard for the past two and a half years. It’s the back corner of our property, with the tiniest peek out to the Charleston Harbor that we want to enjoy as best as possible, so we created a dining area in this cozy little nook. Wanting it to feel like it’s own “room” within our backyard, we had cumberland gravel laid out within a brick border. Soon, this area will be surrounded by boxwoods and other plants, but for now, it just has some temporary fillers around it that aren’t actually planted in the ground.

… and the temperatures are finally cool enough to enjoy this space! This is my favorite time of year for outdoor dining in Charleston. No more muggy temperatures or bugs everywhere… just cool crisp air to enjoy before the greenery dies off for the winter.

This dining table and the chairs are from Harbor Classic—and I wanted to talk about them for a moment because it was one of the best shopping experiences we’ve had. Harbor Classic is local to Charleston, but they deliver all over the US, with complimentary (yes, free) next day shipping since everything you see on their website is in-stock and ready to go. Other furniture we’ve ordered for our home is still being made many (many many) months later, which seems to be the industry standard, so getting outdoor furniture right away has felt like a true luxury.

The table is the Seward Harbor Outdoor Dining Extension Table, which we have set at the max length of 94inches. The leaf is built in (and hidden!), so it’s very easy to adjust back to the minimum length of 84 inches if ever needed. It’s made with Grade A teak, which is weather-friendly and so beautiful—especially in this weathered gray finish. It’s really such a striking table and feels incredibly solid.

The chairs are the Newport Harbor Outdoor Dining Side Chairs and the two head chairs are the Newport Harbor Outdoor Dining Arm Chairs. The wicker is hand-woven and weather-resistant. The chairs are so substantial and even more beautiful in person—plush and roomy. too. They also come with either white or sailcloth Sunbrella cushions. We went with white, which you’d think is a risky choice, being that this table sits under a big tree, but I know Sunbrella cleans super easily so I’m not concerned at all. We’ve also been removing the cushions when the table isn’t in use.

Harbor Classic and I were chatting and decided to partner through this post as an opportunity to offer you all a discount on their beautiful outdoor furniture!
